Bachelor of Science in Systems Science and Engineering Class of 2017

I spent two years completing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from WashU. This was done as part of a dual-degree program through Gettysburg College. I was an active member of the Washington University Consulting Association and the WashU Racing Team.

Systems Engineering

The Donohoe Companies, Inc. Bethesda, MD

Estimator - Large Construction 2019

Donohoe is a large private real estate, development, construction, hospitality, and services company in the DC-Metro area.

  • Worked on the large construction estimating team, assembling bids for base-building projects ranging in value from $50m to $250m.
  • Prepared cost estimates at various stages of design from schematic and budget to detailed take-off and pricing to GMP.
  • Submitted requests for information and presented value engineering options in correspondence to the architect and owner.
  • Responsible for cultivating subcontractor relationships and maintaining the subcontractor database.
  • Maintained the project history data file used by management to visualize budgeting and bid proposal trends.

Skanska US Building, Inc. Rockville, MD

Project Engineer 2018

Skanska is a world leading project development and construction group.

  • Managed the construction operations of The American Geophysical Union Renovation Project, DC’s first Net-Zero Energy Building.
  • $32m, commercial office building, private owner, 42 subcontracts, ~2yr project duration, 6 member project team.
  • Executed changes in scope and contract, assisted field operations, site safety briefings, and material procurement.
  • Redesigned and maintained all documentation control within the project. In charge of all requests for information and submittals.
  • Responsible for the contractor’s portion of achieving LEED Platinum status, for closing and turning-over the project to the owner.

Intern Summer 2015

High-end manufacturer of microswitches, linear position sensors, and thermal switches for extreme environments. Internship focused on improving product design and manufacturing processes.

  • Devised a process to measure output variance and significantly improve functionality, successfully identifying defect in one of the products.
  • Implemented design improvements to 60 manufacturing drawings representing product and process improvements using CAD.
  • Maintained and developed the enterprise resource planning system to conduct research and further analyze the impact of engineering changes on costs.
  • Transformed an error-prone paper process by building a digital database to track engineering requirements and proposed system and design changes.
